We are a NGO Non-Profit based out of the Kansas City, MO area. We were established in 2013 to help fulfill a need we found existed. Some of our friends in other countries were dealing with not having clean water while in the mission field. Myself and another friend had been looking at some clean water solutions for our families and came across the filters developed by Sawyer Products. We sent a couple over to our contacts in Kenya to try out. They said they worked well and would make a tremendous difference in their lives and that of the local population. With that information, we decided to form a non-profit and recruit the help of others through donations. Clean H2O 4 All, is the result of that process and as they say, the rest is history. We are now helping in other areas of the world as well as Kenya. Your interest and donations have a great impact on the lives of others.
Water, sanitation and hygiene have important impacts on both health and disease.
Water-related diseases include:
• those due to micro-organisms and chemicals in water people drink;
• diseases like schistosomiasis which have part of their lifecycle in water;
• diseases like malaria with water-related vectors;
Water also contributes to health, for example through hygiene.
Poor water quality continues to pose a major threat to human health. Diarrhoeal disease alone amounts to an estimated 4.1 % of the total DALY global burden of disease and is responsible for the deaths of 1.8 million people every year (WHO, 2004). It was estimated that 88% of that burden is attributable to unsafe water supply, sanitation and hygiene and is mostly concentrated on children in developing countries.
A significant amount of disease could be prevented especially in developing countries through better access to safe water supply, adequate sanitation facilities and better hygiene practices. In order to allow informed decision-making on interventions aimed at disease prevention and control, it is crucial to carry out a sound economic evaluation of the various options available in specific settings.
We are a 100% volunteer based staff. When possible, we partner with other organizations that are already in the area of need. We provide them the necessary training and then allow them to deploy the filters as needed. With these partnerships, we feel we are able to fund more filters to those areas since we do not have to develop our own presence in those areas.
To provide clean drinking water solutions to underdeveloped communities in a way that will impact the overall health of those communities and improve the quality of life for their residents.
